Parent Literacy Tips
Discuss the Story - Engage in conversations about the books you read together to enhance comprehension. Consider asking:
- What happened in this story?
- What lesson was the author trying to teach us?
- If you were one of the characters, what action would you change?
- Can you connect any part of the book to something that happened in your life?
Sister Parish Donations - March 11-14
Toothbrush & Toothpaste Drive - Our school family is collecting toothbrushes and toothpaste for our Sister Parish in Honduras. We will be collecting all sizes of toothbrushes and full-size tubes of toothpaste during the week of March 11-14. The top two classrooms will earn an out-of-uniform day! Donations can be brought to the school office or Mrs. Hernandez's classroom. They must be labeled with the homeroom teacher's name to give a particular class credit. Thank you for supporting our Sister Parish and giving alms during Lent!
Karate Summer Camp at St. Monica
Join us this summer at St. Monica's Catholic School for our karate summer camp! Campers (ages 6 and up) will get a camp shirt and karate belt. New karate students will get a white belt and learn basic blocks, kicks, stances, and strikes. Returning students will continue their training on self defense, kata, and sparring.
