A Call to Celebrate Mass with Us

Happy Easter Season!  Christ is Risen, Alleluia!  Our Easter Sunday celebrations were such beautiful celebrations.  Slowly we are seeing parishioners return to Mass.  We can sense things are improving as more and more people received their vaccines and springtime emerges.  I know that many of us are beginning to emerge from the COVID quarantining.  I want to invite you to prayerfully consider returning to Sunday celebrations of the Mass if you have been away.  We continue to provide a safe and socially distant environment following our safety protocols.  There is space available at the Saturday 5 pm Mass, Sunday 8 am Mass, Sunday 3 pm Mass, and the Sunday 6 pm Mass.  Seeing each other at Mass is important for the spiritual life of each family as well as for our parish community.  It is good for our souls to come together in worship.  We hope to see you soon.  God Bless, Fr. John McCaslin

Thank You St. Monica! You Did It! Thanks to You, MONICA MADNESS 2021 was a HUGE SUCCESS! We had over 100 Registered Guests who bid on 250 items for three hours. Our "Principal & Priest" delivered 55 pizzas all over Indy in the rain. The Top 10 Bidders donated between $460 and $2460 which helped exceed our goal and propelled us to a $25,000 Grand Total for the evening! All Winning Bidders have received a receipt and should be on the lookout for text regarding the item pick up plan. We're ALL in this TOGETHER and together, SMS DID IT! St. Monica, Thank you for a job well done! Stacey Hoaglin

CYO HELP REQUIRED

St. Monica Parents,

It has been my absolute pleasure to serve as Athletic Director for the past 3 years.  I strongly believe being involved in extracurricular activities such as sports have a lasting positive impact on children.  Next year our family will have 2 children at St. Monica and our oldest will move on to high school.  This will bring challenges to my role as Athletic Director and I need other parents to step in and help.  We need to develop a group of parents willing to dedicate their time to the sports program.  The following positions need to be filled for next year:

1)  Girls Sports Coordinator - Responsible for communication with parents though all school methods to notify of sports deadlines, recruit players and coaches for the various teams including cross country, kickball, basketball, volleyball, soccer and cheerleading.  Other responsibilities would be to prepare uniform orders and/or distribute/collect/put away basketball or cheerleading uniforms, as well as manage other equipment.

2)  Boys Sports Coordinator - Responsible for communication with parents though all school methods to notify of sports deadlines, recruit players and coaches for the various teams including cross country, basketball, volleyball and soccer.  Other responsibilities would be to prepare uniform orders and/or distribute/collect/put away basketball uniforms as well as manage other equipment.

3)  Basketball Gym Manager - Responsibilities include recruiting volunteers to collect gate entry money, running the score board during games, gym setup prior to games and gym cleanup following games.

4)  Volleyball Gym Manager - Responsibilities include recruiting volunteers to collect gate entry money, running the score board during games, gym setup prior to games and gym cleanup following games.

5)  Concessions Manager - Responsibilities include shopping for items to be sold, managing inventory, recruiting volunteers, setup and cleanup for each games.

All volunteers will need to complete the Safe & Sacred Certification process and need to pass a background check.

Thank you,

Joe Acklin
St. Monica Parish Athletic Director
