Welcome Back
It has been wonderful seeing everyone back in the building. Our littlest eagles began school today and will join us for their first full day this Friday. Please remember that our newest families are unfamiliar with our dismissal procedures. As a reminder, it is our job to keep everyone safe. We dismiss over 350 students in typically less than 15 minutes. We could not do this without your support. If you are new to our dismissal procedures, all cars picking up in a lot must enter through Knollton Road. In both the North and the East lots the very first row of cars closest to the building is reserved for our preschool families. Cars must display the pick up sign given to you by your child's teacher. Allowing our youngest students to dismiss to the very first row is essential to keeping them safe. Also please note that we do not permit students to be picked up from the Rotunda between 2:45 and 3:15. At the close of the day teachers are wrapping things up in class and assisting students in making sure they have everything they need for the evening. We can not make announcements pulling them from class. We understand that afternoon appointments happen, but we ask you to support us and simply plan to pick up prior to 2:45.
In the morning, if you are walking your child in, please enter from Foxhill. You will need to park and enter the building through the Rotunda (main entrance). If you were in the building this morning you may have noticed that our all school mass days have changed to Wednesday. We would love to worship with you each Wednesday. Please join us anytime.

Giving Garden
The SMS Giving Garden is thriving. Many of the seeds and plants the children planted last spring have taken root. Some of our varieties are swiss chard, tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, and pumpkins. Stop by after school to see how it's taking shape. Many volunteers have tended the garden all summer. Thank you to the parents and kids that have come out. We could not have done this without your effort. To date, we have picked nearly 500 pounds of vegetables and herbs for the St. Monica Food Pantry. This is almost $900 worth of produce if purchased at market value. The garden will continue to produce until early November so we still need lots of help.
