Eagle Update December 16, 2020

Our first snow was beautiful this morning. I hope you had a moment to enjoy its beauty.

Please check your child's Harmony grades to make sure everything has been submitted.  Many students are missing multiple assignments in more than one class and we are just 2 days away from the end of the quarter. Contact your teacher if you have any questions.

School Commission President Address

Dear SMS Families, Teachers, and Staff,

While this has been a very challenging year to say the least, the SMS School Commission and I would like to thank each family, teacher and staff for all that they have done to educate our students and “keep us together.”  With the first COVID vaccinations being dispensed this week, I am hopeful that the virus will be less disruptive in the year to come.  The School Commission has been in full operation this year, mainly helping to advise Mr. Schommer and Mrs. Exline with school operation logistics and communication.  In addition, we are continuing to work towards meeting our school strategic goals, operationalizing our new volunteer system, assisting with adopting a new Language Arts curriculum for academic year 2021-2022, and considering future financing as it relates to school budget.  I am proud of the work that the School Commission is doing and hope that next month’s virtual open house can attract new students who are looking for an exceptional Catholic school experience in St. Monica.  I wish you all Happy Holidays and a closer to normal 2021!

Holiday Guidance from the Nurses

Please continue to contact the school nurses (nurse@smsindy.org) with any COVID-19 concerns that you might have over Christmas break.  Also, please continue to send us your child's COVID-19 test results so that we can start the 2021 portion of this school year off right.

Feeling overwhelmed or frustrated?  Did you know that you can call 2-1-1 anytime for free counseling?  See here for more information:

The holidays are upon us and it is time where we would get together with friends and family. The safest way to celebrate is with your family at home.  If you are planning on being with others this season, planning outdoor activities is much safer than being inside.
