Eagle Update October 15, 2021

COVID UPDATE

Thank you to everyone doing their part to reduce COVID transmission at St. Monica. Our school has experienced a significant reduction in positive cases. We have only 1 positive case in the last 3 weeks and they stayed home following the checklist so we had 0 close contacts. Please continue to mask in public, use the checklist daily, and stay home if any symptoms are present in any household member. Contact nurse@smsindy.org for further directions.

Fall Break - October 22-25

School is closed Friday, October 22nd and Monday, October 25th for Fall Break.

Out of Uniform Day - October 29th

Halloween is coming. Our first dress down day of the year is October 29th. Join in the fun on Friday, October 29th and wear a costume to school. Costumes should be appropriate for school and include a Covid compliant mask for the health and safety of all. Costume masks are not appropriate. Please leave all accessories and costume masks at home. Let’s make it a fun but safe day. Students need to be able to participate in all school activities with their costumes on. Inflatable costumes and fairy wings would probably not work for a full day of school. Wands and weapons are accessories and not permitted.

Trunk or Treat

Get ready for some Halloween fun!  PTO will be hosting a Drive Thru Trunk or Treat, October 29th from 6pm-8pm in the St. Monica Parking Lot.  Hot dogs, Chips, drinks, and Candy will be handed out, $2 per car and additional donations are appreciated.  Bring the whole family for a Spook-tac-u-lar time!

Parents, we need your help to make it a fun time, we need more vehicles!  enter your car, truck, suv!  We are giving prizes for SCARIEST and most INNOVATIVE trunk décor!  We still need donations for Chips for the event. Contact Divina Reyes 317-514-3224 or Matt Shultz 765-532-8120 for more information.  Your help is greatly appreciated!

Parish Festival Team

St. Monica is considering hosting a festival in 2022 that would be a 3 day event including carnival rides.  A small group, including Fr. John, met last week with the desire to build a team so as to plan a great parish event for our community.  A festival is a great way to build and strengthen our community as well as to invite our broader community onto our parish campus.

Our next meeting is Thursday, October 21st at 7 pm.  I invite you to join us to listen and discern or to be ready to join our team.

Parent Support

We need substitute teachers. No experience necessary. Please email Mr. Schommer e.schommer@smsindy.org if you would like to be on the list.
