Eagle Update October 9, 2020

1:00PM Dismissal Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

October 14-16th is early dismissal. This provides teachers the time to schedule meetings with families. If you are in need of meeting with a teacher, please contact them to find a time to meet. Meetings are by google meet or phone only. No in-person meetings are approved at this time.

Free meals for all students

Due to the USDA extending additional funding for School Nutrition Programs during these unprecedented times,  All St. Monica students can eat breakfast and lunch at no charge until December 31st or until funding is depleted. This is an effort to help reduce the financial burden that our families may be experiencing. Refer to the menu’s at www.smsindy.org for the scheduled meals. The no charge benefit is for Child Nutrition Meals  and school aged children only. Milk and any ala carte items are full price. Email  d.metzler@smsindy.org  with questions.

Altar Server Ministry Training

St. Monica is planning to begin scheduling Altar Servers at Mass starting November 1.  The Server role will be modified from what was in place prior to Covid.  In order to be scheduled and to serve at Mass starting in November, training will be conducted for any St. Monica youth who would like to serve.  This training is for all currently trained Servers and anyone who is in the fourth grade or older who has not previously attended a training session.  The purpose of the training session is to review expectations as well as training on new procedures implemented because of Covid.  Servers need to attend one of the two training sessions to be conducted in the Church:

Monday, October 26, 7:00-8:00 pm

Tuesday, October 27, 7:00-8:00 pm

Please contact Deacon Bob at deaconbob@stmonicaindy.org if there are questions.  At least one parent will be expected to be present for the last few minutes of the training session.
