Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

As we continue the Christmas Season we want to wish you a Merry Christmas. If your family is in need of anything, please let us know. We are here to serve.

School starts on Tuesday, January 4th. We look forward to seeing you before 7:40AM at drop off. There is no school Monday.

COVID and Your School ;)

If anyone in your family has any COVID symptoms, please stay home and contact us for further directions. We will have a special edition of our newsletter tomorrow detailing what you should now about our procedures and our response to the new quarantine guidelines. If you have traveled during break or been around family and would like your child tested, reach out to have your child tested at nurse@smsindy.org .

What's new at School

As part of our Emergency Assistance for Non-Public Schools (EANS) funding, all classrooms now have air germicidal disinfection systems installed that remove 99.9% of all virus and bacteria contamination. 

Did you see the mulch mountain yet? All playground materials have been delivered and should be installed soon. Once installed, our playground will be back to new condition.

We have a new logo! Thanks to our marketing committee, we will be revealing our new logo this month. We are also working on finishing a contract with our new school uniform company. more information on that this month as well. 

Our calendar for the 2022-2023 school year is ready to publish. We will have that on our website by Friday.

Ms. Daggett is not returning for the Spring semester. In her place we have 4 specialized music teachers provided by the same company that brought us Ms. Daggett. There will not be a lapse in music classes. They will start January 4th.  

We have a new part time nurse at St. Monica for Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please welcome Ms. Emily Schommer. She comes to us as a recent nursing graduate from Marian University. You may also recognize her from working after care for a few years. She is also a St. Monica Alumni. 

Middle School

Middle School will be able to use their lockers fully starting Tuesday. We ask that they not be decorated and should be emptied each day until further notice.

Middle School will receive their second semester schedules when they arrive on Tuesday. Changes include core classes to equalize class sizes and specials classes so every student has an opportunity for all specials options.

Mrs. Erwin is our new 8th Grade homeroom teacher and 7th AP, 8th, and 8th AP Language Arts teacher for the middle school. She comes to us with 17 years of experience and a passion for encouraging writers. Please welcome her. She replaces Ms. Hackl who no longer works for St. Monica. Please keep them both in your prayers.

8th Graders - If you need transcripts sent to a high school, please send your request to k.young@smsindy.org and she will make sure they are sent.

Registration for 2022-2023

Registration for the next school year will begin next week. Be on the look out for your packet.

Grades

Second quarter grades will be avaiable by the end of the week. 

Karate

CLICK HERE for information on how to sign up for karate classes. They are held on Tuesdays after school at St. Monica and start next week. Sensei Bilek is great with the children.
