As we enter the season of Lent, we use this time to prepare ourselves. We have several activities planned to guide our students through this time. Information will come from your teachers and will be included in the weekly newsletters.
Reading-Thon
Our Reading-Thon was a great success and we exceeded our fundraising goal. You raised $12,271 to directly benefit our staff. Thank you for your commitment to reading and St. Monica School. A special thanks to Joe A for managing the entire fundraiser and PTO for their support.

COVID
We are continuing to monitor and reflect on allowed changes released by the Indiana Department of Health and the Marion County Health Department. Though many schools have moved to optional masking, we are maintaining our current protocols related to masking in order to allow opportunities for increased volunteerism and more frequent all school gatherings in the church. Our methodical and intentional actions will continue to provide our nurses and staff with useful information as we move forward. Hearing and Vision Screening
The Marion County Health Department will be at St. Monica on March 10, 2022 to conduct vision screening for 1, 3, 5, and 8th grade, and hearing screening for 1, 4, and 7th grade. If you do not wish for your child to be evaluated or if you would like them evaluated and they are not scheduled, please let the nurses know nurse@smsindy.org .
School Family Mass
Please plan to attend Mass on February 27th at 10AM, 12:30PM, or 6PM for our school family explanatory Mass. We want to fill the church to show our support for our faith.

Chess During Lunch/Recess
This program is great for ALL levels, and is taught in a fun way ! Classes (during lunch and recess, one day a week are being offered at St. Monica beginning March 7th through April 18th. “Learning Through Games" has taught Multiple State Champion Scholastic Teams. Tuesday Prayer Service
We will have an all school march through our halls led by our band leading to a prayer service to prepare for lent. This will be live streamed on Facebook.
Ash Wednesday
We will have an all school Mass at 8AM on Ash Wednesday.
