A Parent's Letter

Dear Prospective SMS Parent,

My husband and I really appreciate the open door policy. We love that we can visit with our kids while they learn.  We are welcomed with open arms! It is nice to sit and listen in on what is going on in the classroom. If you watch for just a few minutes, you will see just how wonderful and caring the teachers are. It is also fun to join our children for lunch. It seems to brighten their day!

Next, we appreciate the extra "one on one" our children have received. Our son was struggling a little with organization and buckling down when the day would start. His teacher came up with a plan to help him focus. He has succeeded through the care and support of his teachers. As parents we feel that you will come to appreciate the teachers at Saint Monica.  They truly dedicate themselves to the success of their students, just as they have with our son. As a parent, I cannot express how much gratitude we have for the faculty at St. Monica.

Self-esteem is so important for children. Our daughter was a very shy, quiet little girl going into the 1st grade. Now, she is more out spoken, stands up for herself, and believes in what she says. We believe it has everything to do with her experience in public speaking in her 1st grade class. Her self-esteem has gone through the roof. We are so amazed at her growth.

The diversity at St. Monica is so amazing!  We love that our children are learning with children from so many different backgrounds. It is so awesome for them to see that we might all look different and come from different backgrounds, but inside we are all the same.

Finally, and most importantly we appreciate the spiritual impact of St. Monica. We are thankful that faith and religion are freely mixed in all areas of the curriculum. All school Mass occurs every Friday morning as an example of the constant infusion of faith in the education of our children. In closing, my husband and I want to invite you to consider fully the opportunities present at SMS for your child. For more information, contact the school at 317-255-7153. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Peace Be with You,
An SMS Parent
